Past to Present!
Present time you may be wondering?
Currently my family and I have been continuing to use reusable plates. It has been a great benefit for us. We barely fill up the stack of paper plates any more! Although, there are more dishes in the sink, but we know that its not cutting down trees like our old paper plates.

How I saved?
Since 4/23/12 I began to use reusable plates!(: I used glass and clay plates that I could easily wash after I was done eating. Along the way, I encouraged my family to do this project with me. It took a while but they joined me and we all started using reusable plates.

According to the data collected in 2003, about 970 thousand tons of paper plates and cups were thrown away. About a ton of paper plates uses 17 trees! Can you believe it?!

The Start
Hello(:
Im a 8th grade student doing a project about saving paper plates. I was inspired to save paper plates because my family used to eat on paper plates every night. There is 4 of us to be specific and we used about 28 plates per week! I decided enough was enough and I wanted to help us start using reusable plates. Yes it was hard but it was worth it. We saved many plates and money too!
